Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time -

إِنَّ يَومَ الفَصلِ ميقاتُهُم أَجمَعينَ

Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all -

فَيَومَئِذٍ وَقَعَتِ الواقِعَةُ

Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur,

اليَومَ تُجزىٰ كُلُّ نَفسٍ بِما كَسَبَت ۚ لا ظُلمَ اليَومَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَريعُ الحِسابِ

This Day every soul will be recompensed for what it earned. No injustice today! Indeed, Allah is swift in account.

لِيَومِ الفَصلِ

For the Day of Judgement.

فَكَيفَ إِذا جَمَعناهُم لِيَومٍ لا رَيبَ فيهِ وَوُفِّيَت كُلُّ نَفسٍ ما كَسَبَت وَهُم لا يُظلَمونَ

So how will it be when We assemble them for a Day about which there is no doubt? And each soul will be compensated [in full for] what it earned, and they will not be wronged.

وَيَومَ نَبعَثُ مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهيدًا ثُمَّ لا يُؤذَنُ لِلَّذينَ كَفَروا وَلا هُم يُستَعتَبونَ

And [mention] the Day when We will resurrect from every nation a witness. Then it will not be permitted to the disbelievers [to apologize or make excuses], nor will they be asked to appease [Allah].

يَومَ تَأتي كُلُّ نَفسٍ تُجادِلُ عَن نَفسِها وَتُوَفّىٰ كُلُّ نَفسٍ ما عَمِلَت وَهُم لا يُظلَمونَ

On the Day when every soul will come disputing for itself, and every soul will be fully compensated for what it did, and they will not be wronged.

هـٰذا يَومُ الفَصلِ الَّذي كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبونَ

[They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny."

وَالَّذينَ يُصَدِّقونَ بِيَومِ الدّينِ

And those who believe in the Day of Recompense

وَاتَّقوا يَومًا تُرجَعونَ فيهِ إِلَى اللَّهِ ۖ ثُمَّ تُوَفّىٰ كُلُّ نَفسٍ ما كَسَبَت وَهُم لا يُظلَمونَ

And fear a Day when you will be returned to Allah. Then every soul will be compensated for what it earned, and they will not be treated unjustly.

يَسأَلونَ أَيّانَ يَومُ الدّينِ

They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?"

ثُمَّ ما أَدراكَ ما يَومُ الدّينِ

Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?

وَقالوا يا وَيلَنا هـٰذا يَومُ الدّينِ

They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense."

هـٰذا يَومُ الفَصلِ ۖ جَمَعناكُم وَالأَوَّلينَ

This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ مَنْ حُوسِبَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عُذِّبَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَقُلْتُ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ‏{‏ فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا‏}‏ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ لَيْسَ ذَاكِ الْحِسَابُ إِنَّمَا ذَاكِ الْعَرْضُ مَنْ نُوقِشَ الْحِسَابَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عُذِّبَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

He who is taken to account on the Day of Resurrection is in fact put to torment. I said: Has Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, not said this: 'He will be made subject to an easy reckoning" (Ixxxiv. 8)? Thereupon he said: (What it implies) is not the actual reckoning, but only the presentation of one's deeds to Him. He who is thoroughly examined in reckoning is put to torment.

حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ أَبِي صَغِيرَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ يُحَاسَبُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِلاَّ هَلَكَ ‏"‏‏.‏ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى ‏{‏فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ * فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا‏}‏ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ إِنَّمَا ذَلِكِ الْعَرْضُ، وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ يُنَاقَشُ الْحِسَابَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِلاَّ عُذِّبَ ‏"‏‏.‏

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), said, "None will be called to account on the Day of Resurrection, but will be ruined." I said "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Hasn't Allah said: 'Then as for him who will be given his record in his right hand, he surely will receive an easy reckoning? (84.7-8) -- Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "That (Verse) means only the presentation of the accounts, but anybody whose account (record) is questioned on the Day of Resurrection, will surely be punished."

وعن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما قال‏:‏ سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول‏:‏ يدنى المؤمن يوم القيامة من ربه حتى يضع كنفه عليه، فيقرره بذنوبه، فيقول‏:‏ أتعرف ذنب كذا‏؟‏ أتعرف ذنب كذا‏؟‏ فيقول‏:‏ رب أعرف قال‏:‏ فإني قد سترتها عليك في الدنيا، وأنا أغفرها لك اليوم، فيعطى صحيفة حسناته‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏ ‏.‏ ‏‏(‏‏(‏كنفه‏:‏ ستره ورحمته‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

I heard Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, "A believer will be brought close to his Rubb on the Day of Resurrection and enveloping him in His Mercy, He (SWT) will make him confess his sins by saying: 'Do you remember (doing) this sin and this sin?' He will reply: 'My Rubb, I remember.' Then He (SWT) will say: 'I covered it up for you in the life of world, and I forgive it for you today.' Then the record of his good deeds will be handed to him".[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال‏:‏ ‏ "‏ من كانت عنده مظلمة لأخيه، من عرضه أو من شيء، فليتحلله منه اليوم قبل أن لا يكون دينار ولا درهم ، إن كان له عمل صالح أخذ منه بقدر مظلمته، وإن لم يكن له حسنات أخذ من سيئات صاحبه فحمل عليه‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه البخاري‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He who has done a wrong affecting his brother's honour or anything else, let him ask his forgiveness today before the time (i.e., the Day of Resurrection) when he will have neither a dinar nor a dirham. If he has done some good deeds, a portion equal to his wrong doings will be subtracted from them; but if he has no good deeds, he will be burdened with the evil deeds of the one he had wronged in the same proportion".[Al-Bukhari].

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said," (On the Day of Resurrection) any one whose account will be taken will be ruined (i.e. go to Hell)." I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! May Allah make me be sacrificed for you. Doesn't Allah say: "Then as for him who will be given his record in his right hand, he surely will receive an easy reckoning.?" (84.7-8) He replied, "That is only the presentation of the accounts; but he whose record is questioned, will be ruined." (This hadith is also narrated through two other chains)

وعن أبي موسى الأشعري، رضي الله عنه، قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله، صلى الله عليه وسلم‏:‏ إذا كان يوم القيامة دفع الله إلى كل مسلم يهودياً أونصرانياً فيقول‏:‏ هذا فكاكك من النار‏"‏‏.‏ وفي رواية عنه عن النبي، صلى الله عليه وسلم قال‏:‏ ‏"‏يجئ يوم القيامة ناس من المسلمين بذنوب أمثال الجبال يغفرها الله لهم ‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will deliver to every Muslim, a Jew or a Christian and say: 'This is your ransom from Hell-fire."'Another narration is: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "There would come people amongst the Muslims on the Day of Resurrection with sins as heavy as a mountain, and Allah would forgive them".[Muslim].

Whenever `Aisha (the wife of the Prophet) heard anything which she did not understand, she used to ask again till she understood it completely. Aisha said: "Once the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever will be called to account (about his deeds on the Day of Resurrection) will surely be punished." I said, "Doesn't Allah say: "He surely will receive an easy reckoning." (84.8) The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "This means only the presentation of the accounts but whoever will be argued about his account, will certainly be ruined."

A man asked Ibn `Umar, "What did you hear Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying regarding An-Najwa (secret talk between Allah and His believing worshipper on the Day of Judgment)?" He said, "(The Prophet (ﷺ) said), "One of you will come close to his Lord till He will shelter him in His screen and say: Did you commit such-and-such sin? He will say, 'Yes.' Then Allah will say: Did you commit such and such sin? He will say, 'Yes.' So Allah will make him confess (all his sins) and He will say, 'I screened them (your sins) for you in the world, and today I forgive them for you."'
